Rose Valley (mother)

€170.00

40cm x 50cm, 15.8" x 19.7"

C-type Fuji Matt, carbon neutral

Every year, in the month of May, life revolves around the Damask rose in Kelaat M’Gouna, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Suddenly, the streets fill with a sweet, honey-like floral scent. Children appear out of nowhere, handing out rose petals; groups of women sing in the rose fields; trucks loaded with rosebuds drive by, and shades of pink emerge under the heat of the sun. Rose Queen (2023), Zohra Aït Daoud, took me on a morning walk through the rose fields. Her mother joined us, and during a moment of rest, I captured her hands cradling these precious Damask roses.
